Jesse and Thom's Wedding

05.02.08
Where do i even begin with this one... hun? This wedding was a treat in so many ways and Whitney and I felt spoiled the whole time by Jesse and Thom and their family. It was such a beautiful group of people. Destination Weddings may be a lot of work but its well worth it when everyone you love is together on vacation. So by the time the wedding rolled around, all were rested and ready to have fun!
Jesse and Thom live in NYC and chose to get married in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico- a magical little spot on the planet preserved by old roads and long drives (its a few hours north of Mexico City). How they covered so many details from afar still remains a mystery to me. For example, they brought 65 lbs. of candy over the border. They had pillows made in three different fabrics for the reception. All of the guys had custom converse sneakers with their names on the back. They had a mariachi band for the cocktail hour, a DJ for dinner and a local band that did incredible covers like arcade fire for late night dancing. They choreographed their first dance to "my love" by justin timberlake. A tequila bar with 4 different types of tequila and little ceramic shot glasses that tie around the neck. Oh yeah- and incredible fireworks. I could go on... All of it was impressive. And the coolest thing- Jesse and Thom's LOVE- sweet, tender, fun and genuine.
Thank you both for a wonderful time in Mexico (our first little vacation since the little one)!

There was this huge mural in the "spa" room. it was kind of shocking and remained a joke for the weekend.
Yes, those are peppers in her bouquet.
they technically tied the knot at the courthouse in brooklyn prior to mexico.
"has anyone seen that movie?"....
Jesse and her dad right before the ceremony
every time i see this photo i laugh.
if you want to hear how cool this band is check them out- pilaseca
These guys were impressive on the dance floor.
...and then the masks came out!
...and the shoes came off
the best part of this photo is that when i zoomed in i realized they weren't kissing- they were sharing a churro!
*and Yes! there is still more to come... we had an amazing "Day After" shoot romping around the city and desert. stay tuned!
