here are some images from our nearest and dearest - Michael, Elizabeth and Elodie in one of our favorite places ever- Marfa, Texas. thanks to Josh and Brooke (our Smilebooth partners and dear friends) for turning us on to this remote high desert magical place years ago on our Marfa trip. this shoot took place at el cosmico. we later found out that Elizabeth is pregnant- which makes the images even better.... just knowing there will soon be another amazing antonia!

every year we look forward to our lovebug shoot at the seed factory. i could sit here and write a post as to why this works so well but really it just feels like magic. magic for us. magic for the kids. most of the families that come to these sessions are repeat. the dates are announced and then boom! moments later the 2 days are booked solid. the kids actually enjoy it. can you tell? :)
i believe most of our inspiration comes from just actually remembering what it was like to be a kid. the excitement of new things and new environments. the importance of the little things that bring you comfort. the freedom of jumping off of furniture. the art of making a mess....

Jun 19, 2011toby's first birthday

Happy Birthday, Toby! You are one sweet, beautiful boy! We photographed Joanna, Alex and Toby in NYC on Toby's actually one year birthday. A milestone we wanted to make sure to document.We strolled around the west village and a park they visit often. To top off this great day we had a wonderful sitter Sophie who gave us peace of mind while watching our baby during the shoot and then dinner at cafe cluney. Thank you, Sophie.

Meet our free family photoshoot contest winners Philip and Jessica, and their ridiculously adorable Gianna. Those eyes, that smile and her contagious laugh just blew us away from the very beginning. We couldn’t have asked for a better family to photograph for this special occasion. They came all the way up from Tampa, FL for this and we couldn’t have been more honored to spend time with them. Gianna’s one lucky girl- she’s got two parents that think the world of her. Thank you Pietri family for making the trip up here, you guys are a beautiful family.
