shemoni + jason are engaged 06.28.10
what's to say about these two? shy-ish, sweet, smiley, silly. we had so much fun wandering around atlanta looking for bright punches of color to put this gorgeous couple in front of.
and, of course, watching shemoni school jason with her hula hoop skills.

we're really excited about their four-day wedding extravaganza in august and witnessing all the beautiful moments that come with indian tradition and this pair's love.

monique + david 06.15.10
monique and david radiate head-over-heals-puppy-dog-in-lovey-ness. they ooze it. it boomerangs around you and back to them, glowing, and you're left smiling and laughing, too, wanting to squeeze your special someone. anyone they come across would tell you the same thing. they live in a different world of running barefoot, holding hands, laughing and sneaking away for private moonlit dances.

their wedding was at serenbe and it was the most beautiful we'd seen the farm. everything was in full bloom. we got to wander with the love birds and do portraits before the ceremony, which is always ideal in terms of photo-taking because we can knock out the photos and they get to relax and ease into the big i do's. monique walked down the flower petal aisle to sigur ros. i would say that again to really explain the sheer beauty of that moment, but listen here, then imagine flower petals, parasols, birds chirping, a grinning and beeming couple and huge clouds of love hanging heavy in the air. it was a slap to the face of perfection. (yea, i cried... with monique, even, just before the beauty of it all doubled itself.)
then came the party. monique's father serenaded the crowd with a song. tears were shed over heart-felt speeches. the couple snuck off into the dusk, holding hands, to jump on the trampoline. then, the crowd moved pool-side for drinks and cigars late into the night. the dj, tucked through a garden and down stairs was still playing music under the tent and no one seemed to notice the newlyweds' absence as they danced alone under the tent to their favorite songs.

we can't tell you enough how special it is to be witnesses to such beauty.
thank you, monique and david. our jaws are still on the floor.

home is wherever i am with you 06.01.10
june equals the month of jumping into the rabbit hole of travel. we're only a week back from a trip to kansas for an awesome wedding and a new group documentary project--and i haven't unpacked yet. david is the type to unpack the moment he gets home. me, well i just gradually unpack until it's time to pack again. (hence, packrat.)

we loooove seeing new places. see, we're what you might call visual people (y'think?) and new textures and colors and backdrops and smiles always spark our eyes for a new way of seeing this beautiful earth.

tomorrow, we're off to a camp in upstate new york for amy+john's wedding for 5 days. then, one hour after we land back home, we're hopping in our car and driving to dc for the intense and creative-energy-packed luceo images biannual meeting and magazine editor meetings for 5 days. then hop back in the car, drive home. wake up and shoot leah+jon's wedding at a vineyard in north georgia (oooh). catch our breaths. couple days later, we're off to monica+scott's wedding in austin, texas (we've always wanted to go there), then a day and a half of exploring texas. inhale, exhale, hug our cats and pup. drive to raleigh, north carolina for rebecca+paul's wedding.
home. wash clothes. hop on a plane to IRELAND!
whew.
p.s. place your bets now. i've got money on david adapting my never-unpack-style this month.
p.p.s. forgive us if we're slow to respond to email and if this blog lays on a beach drinking a daiquiri for a week or three.
