we clicked with this beautiful couple right away. christina and karim are such a good match because they're both so warm and kind. it makes sense that they're so gosh darn likeable since friends and family headed all the way to st. lucia from toronto, and even egypt and germany for their intimate wedding. (y'know, then again, it shouldn't be too horribly difficult to talk a friend into coming to st. lucia--the place is breathtaking.) everything was simple and beautiful. after the ceremony, a steel-drum band serenaded the group during portraits and before the yummy meal and the cigars were lit up. we even joined in on the dance party at the end of the wedding because we couldn't resist the dancing scarves and shaking hips that karim's cousin and sister led.

we have a pretty strict rule that we do not photograph the weddings of close friends. as much as david and i love working together and documenting the flow of the lovey day, work is work and it's not especially easy to do as a bridesmaid. still, i couldn't resist taking a few photos of my oh so beautiful friend meghan at her wedding and reception in our hometown of columbia, sc this past weekend. meghan is my first good friend to get married, afterall. (the bride and groom were already in great photographic hands with our friends amelia and dan from dreamland images) i've known meghan since we were in the same daycare class in elementary school and then the same orchestra in middle school and inseparable in high school. she's been dating trevor since mid-college and his utter devotion to her hasn't wavered. i thought i could keep it together at the wedding, but after i walked nervously down the aisle (i was one of the bridesmaids), teetering on my high heels, and before she walked down the aisle, just as the church doors opened to reveal meghan, in her oh-so-beautiful lace dress, i was already crying (every prayer, i was desperately wiping my nose). meghan told me that she started to tear up as she passed my mom in a pew on the way to her handsome man. it's such a wonderful thing to witness the weddings of our clients, but meghan and trevor's wedding day was that much more special and magical to me because this is someone i have loved for almost two decades now and her future is so bright and full of love. she is a dear, goofy and loyal friend. (and ohmygoodness how cute are those shoes?! as you can tell, i was a little obsessed with the shoes...)

we shot SUCH an amazingly amazing wedding near asheville, nc last weekend. we can't show you that amazing amazingness just yet, but we can show you what we did while the wedding party and friends and family ate a yummy meal in a nearby barn. (we tend to ease off on the photos while you and aunt jane stuff your faces during the yummy meals. we do this because we'd hope you'd do the same for us.)
