My, what a talented pair these two are! They're both visual people, Tara is in the photography field and Sebastien is in film. Tara admitted she'd been following both of our work since 2005, so we were so flattered that they selected us to photograph their wedding. We immediately felt like we were old friends, not just with the couple, but with the wedding party, too--as we all ended up spending time together in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico after their beautiful wedding, which took place in the gorgeous colonial city. They went to high school together in Thailand and serendipity landed them both in DC years later where they became smitten with each other!
Their wedding, as you can see, was amazing from start to finish--from the mesmerized stares from every passerby as Tara walked the cobblestone streets to a courtyard to say "I do," to the huge hugs from friends and family after the ceremony, to a reception in a historic former convent with gorgeous high ceilings and murals, to Sebastien's brother DJ-ing while everyone danced until the wee hours of the morning at a nearby salsa club. These two are troopers, too, because the next day we wandered the city to get more portraits, this time in the daylight. Congratulations, Tara and Sebastien and thank you for introducing us to one of our new favorite countries and for ending our 2011 wedding season with a huge bang. We know we'll be seeing you both again...

| Christy and Trevor said "I do" along the ocean in beautiful Barbados. These two have such bright and generous spirits that family and friends happily traveled from the United States (some of Trevor's family live in Barbados!) to soak up the sun, shed happy tears and dance the night away late into the night. As you can see below, Christy is definitely one to pay attention to detail--she did all the awesome graphic design for all the fans, programs, menus and gift boxes and the vibrant colors she chose perfectly complemented the scenery and beautiful tropical flowers growing everywhere. They had the run of a beautiful hotel alongside the rocky ocean shores so all the guests got to spend the whole weekend getting to know each other and enjoying themselves--this is exactly the type of wedding we are trying to plan for ourselves. The wedding night culminated with a splash and Christy was in the pool, dress and all! It was the perfect ending to their beautiful wedding day. |

boy, do we have two amazing weddings to share with you very soon. one in barbados, one in puerto rico. yes, our lives are rough. we got to watch people say "i do" in some of the most beautiful tropical places in the world this year -- grand cayman, old san juan, the bahamas, jamaica (where we got engaged!), barbados. that's not to say either of us got a tan or that the weddings we photographed closer to home weren't just as gorgeous, but it's always fun to add stamps to our passports and freckles to our shoulders.
as the wedding season winds down for a bit, we have a minute to take a breath and remember how lucky we are to have such amazing clients. while we get these last two weddings ready for you to ooh and ahh over, we want to let you know that 2012 is booking up fast! it's going to be an exciting year! |
