we only shoot 20 weddings a year. we love this because it keeps weddings fresh for us and gives us time to juggle our other passions -- assignment work and personal projects and our annual photofun trip. well, as you can see, we've already got 17 booked for the year, so i'm just going to put it out into the universe that greece, india and argentina haven't been stamped in our passports... yet. ;-) 2010 is going to be a great year.

we had the pleasure of playing at the park and warming up in the SCAD library with these two. they're both so sweet and playful that it was a great start to the new year. as they hung upside down on slides and ran with balloons, we almost (almost) forgot that it was 27 degrees outside. almost. (ok, i didn't, i despise the cold. leah and jonathan live in canada and are braving their first winter there, so i really oughtn't complain.) joy thigpen is doing the styling on their wedding and from what we've heard, their june wedding at crane creek vineyards is going to be absolute magic. jonathan plays bass for a living and their love for music is going to be tied into the wedding altar, which will be made of piano keys. see? magic. and, as if their easygoing, funness, wasn't enough? it'll be WARM on their wedding day. can't. wait.

we just got back from a whirlwind 10 days in nyc. little sleep, lots of inspiration, dozens of editor meetings (we had 12 TIME mag editors looking at our photos at one point), and our first nyc gallery show! our show was such a success. more than 400 editors, friends (one who flew in from cali), and even some of our favorite wedding clients came through to support us, look at photos and party. (you know it was a fun party when 480 beers and 24 bottles of wine were consumed and people stayed long past closing and moved into the basement with our dj for some sweet dancing as our photos were projected on the walls.) we're already planning our next show.
