whew! and we still have lots of openings for weddings and engagement shoots... and some adventures in the mix, too.

We are thrilled for 2012! It's already started off with a bang with a completely sold-out fine-art show in New York City (that got some press in CNN and PDN ), Kendrick turned 29 a week after a weeklong shoot in windy, rural North Dakota for a favorite magazine client, and David's actually out on a shoot for US News & World Report today. We're busy, busy, busy. What's most exciting? We're getting married this year! I'm guessing you might be getting married soon, too, if you're on our blog, so congratulations! We think 2012 is probably the absolute best year to get married ;-) So, as our calendars fill up with weddings, roadtrips, national magazine shoots, bachelorette parties, engagement parties, engagement shoots, family time, adventures, let us know if you have any questions. We're pretty much experts on weddings at this point after photographing so many beautiful weddings and now we can share our own advice on the ins and outs of planning your own perfect wedding. My, what a talented pair these two are! They're both visual people, Tara is in the photography field and Sebastien is in film. Tara admitted she'd been following both of our work since 2005, so we were so flattered that they selected us to photograph their wedding. We immediately felt like we were old friends, not just with the couple, but with the wedding party, too--as we all ended up spending time together in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico after their beautiful wedding, which took place in the gorgeous colonial city. They went to high school together in Thailand and serendipity landed them both in DC years later where they became smitten with each other! Their wedding, as you can see, was amazing from start to finish--from the mesmerized stares from every passerby as Tara walked the cobblestone streets to a courtyard to say "I do," to the huge hugs from friends and family after the ceremony, to a reception in a historic former convent with gorgeous high ceilings and murals, to Sebastien's brother DJ-ing while everyone danced until the wee hours of the morning at a nearby salsa club. These two are troopers, too, because the next day we wandered the city to get more portraits, this time in the daylight. Congratulations, Tara and Sebastien and thank you for introducing us to one of our new favorite countries and for ending our 2011 wedding season with a huge bang. We know we'll be seeing you both again... (Mofongo!)
